I'm a journalist, essayist, and author of the memoir The Wild Oats Project, published in twelve countries and eight languages. My jobs have included Contributing Travel Editor at Sunset magazine, Executive Editor of the San Francisco city magazine 7x7, and a stint as an award-winning food columnist for Philadelphia Weekly. My work has appeared in The New York Times, Atlantic, Poets & Writers, Oprah Magazine, Yoga Journal, and others, and has been short-listed in The Best American Essays. I've also authored two dance books and a travel guide. I'm a certified yoga teacher, an auntie, and a believer in the power of women to change the world. My second book, Know When to Run: Memoir of a Bookie's Daughter, is forthcoming from Regalo Press. I'm available to help fellow writers conceive, package, and edit their non-fiction proposals as well as manuscripts for both essays and book-length projects. I split my time between northeastern Pennsylvania and the California Central Coast.
