I'm a journalist, essayist, and author of the memoir The Wild Oats Project. My various jobs have included Contributing Travel Editor at Sunset magazine, Executive Editor of the San Francisco city magazine 7x7, and an indulgent stint as an award-winning food columnist for Philadelphia Weekly. My work has appeared in The New York Times, Atlantic, Poets & Writers, Oprah Magazine, Yoga Journal, and others. I've also authored two dance books, Ballet and European Dance, and a travel guide called Moon MapGuide San Francisco. I grew up in a small Pennsylvania town and currently live in New York City. On the side, I'm a certified yoga teacher who will one day soon launch a series of vinyasa classes based on my favorite music albums of all time. That's after I finish up my current project, a memoir called The Bookie, which is as much about my father's life as it is about mine.
